This is a rising card routine that Derek liked performing and teaching at all his lectures.

He enjoyed doing it not only because it fooled people but because the method was devious and funny to explain. 

You see, although the deck is ordinary and can be borrowed, the gimmick is a palmed rubber super ball. You will need to supply your own one-inch rubber ball.

The routine begins with the deck being examined and shuffled by your friend. A card is selected and lost in the deck. The deck is held in your hand as the selected card rises out of the deck. Both the card and the deck can then be examined.
