The Lota Bowl has been around for more than a hundred years. It has been released by many different magic companies and even as a toy in magic sets for children. However, there have been very few that do not look like magic props.
Tom Crecelius, besides being a magician, is also an excellent craftsman and has made these beautiful handmade Lota Mugs that look like water or tea pots.
The current batch of Mugs have a rustic feel to them as opposed to the slick ones that were previously released.
It is made of stoneware clay that is fired to 2,300 degrees. It takes more than eight weeks before each one is finished. He also uses lead-free glaze which will allow you to actually drink its contents without worrying about your health (although we do not recommend liquid that can spoil or contains sugar).
The basic effect is of a seemingly endless amount of liquid being poured out of the Mug. It can be emptied multiple times and each time more liquid appears inside.
These are all handmade and will vary slightly in size, shape, and coloring. The overall size is around 3.5"-4" high, with a 2.25"-3.25" diameter opening and an overall width including the handle of around 5"-5.5" inches. On average you should be able to get 4-5 good pours. Very limited edition and quantity.
NOTE: Since these are all hand-made, no two are exactly the same, and all contain some natural imperfections just like the artisan made pottery and ceramics found around the world.
BONUS: As soon as you make your purchase a pdf with basic Lota instructions will appear in your media library.
