Heartz (Dan Garrett)
A beautiful routine using sponge hearts that seem to appear out of thin air.
Although there are many possibilities for these props, the basic routine begins by showing both your hands empty and using them to form a heart, which is the international symbol for love.
In the most visual and impossible way a red sponge heart appears between your fingertips!
You then introduce a pen and hold it behind the heart forming the famous cupid’s arrow image.
You hand the arrow to your friend and have them tap your hand which splits the sponge heart into two hearts.
Explaining that two hearts beat as one you place one heart in your hand and the other in your friends’. Your friend taps your hand with the arrow (pen) and then taps theirs. Magically your heart vanishes and appears in their hand proving that the magic of love is alive and well. Everything is now examinable.
Comes complete with two specially manufactured limited edition super soft sponge hearts (2.5”x2.5”x0.8”), a Gimmick, written instructions, and access to an online video tutorial by Meir Yedid and Dan Garrett. A Meir Yedid Magic product.
NOTE: The sponge Hearts that come with this set were custom made from a super soft material that was never used before in magic. It compresses smaller than all other sponges and is less likely to tear. Unfortunately, we only have around 70 sets and once they are gone it is unlikely that they will be made in this way again.

David Regal Review from the January 2025 issue of Genii Magazine
The late Dan Garrett was a very clever magician with a nose for usable, commercial magic. When he worked on a plot, he made it better. This is essentially a spongeball routine, but instead of balls it is done with 2.5-inch supersoft red sponge hearts. The symbolism that accompanies the heart shape alters the routine in ways that cannot be overstated, as the routine is turned into a perfect trick to perform for a couple on a date, at a wedding reception, etc. In addition, the magic content is extremely strong.
First, a heart is produced from hands that are clearly seen empty, thanks to the implementation of an included gimmick (this looks amazing). The performer displays a pen and uses it to simulate the arrow-through-heart image known to all. The spectator takes the pen and uses it to cause a second heart to appear. Finally, the classic sponge transposition is performed, a heart leaving the performer’s hand to join a heart held in the spectator’s closed fist. Of course, the patter can be themed to a special occasion, or the importance of love in our lives. In short, a spongeball routine has been transformed from a bit of fun with some toys to a soulful and memorable quick routine, one that not only delivers magic but humanizes the performer and adds another level to the proceedings.
Considerations: This edition made with super-soft sponge is limited.
