Undead (Todd Karr)
This is a very clever book test using ordinary and very popular books. The books that are used for this routine are the widely popular and best-selling Twilight Saga Series by Stephenie Meyer which consists of four books. The books are Twilight (498 pages), New Moon (629 pages), Eclipse (563 pages), and Breaking Dawn (756 pages). All four of which were also made into movies.
The basic routine is having a book selected, a spectator names any page, turns to it and begins reading it. You have them concentrate on the first line of text, and begin describing what you envision them reading, you proceed by naming or spelling a significant word on that line that they were supposedly thinking of.
The routine can be done with all four books giving them a free choice of book or you can do the routine with just one, two, or three books. You are also taught strategies on how to do the exact same routine using a borrowed book if the people you are visiting happen to have copies or if you are in a library or bookstore and have a spectator get a copy. Can be repeated immediately.
What Todd Karr created is a set of gimmicks that can remain in plain sight while cueing you to what is the most visually interesting word on the first line of every page in the four Twilight Series books which contain close to 2,500 pages.
The books are not included, but since they sold more than 120 million copies worldwide, they are very easy to find online where used copies can be easily found very inexpensively. This will work with both the US hardcover and paperback editions. We have not tested them with books released in other countries but assume that all the English editions would be the same.
Comes with four very special bookmarks and written instructions with multiple variations and strategies. Originally released by The Miracle Factory.
NOTE: Some of the recent editions like the Atom version, have been re-typeset to use fewer pages, have different covers, and do not match the bookmarks supplied. Please get an earlier edition of the books. Preferably with the same covers as the one in the trailer. Or at least make sure that the page count of the books you get are the same as the ones mentioned above.
