The MIT Whiz Kid Who Brought the Casinos to Their Knees
This is the sequel to the bestselling book "Bringing Down The House" that has been made into several television documentaries and a major motion picture. In many ways Busting Vegas is more riveting and the methods employed by the team are more sophisticated, less known and are more "advantage play" than math.
The team made millions using these systems during the 1990s playing blackjack in the world's top casinos. In this book Ben Mezrich goes into detail as to how they got the advantage against the house. One of the methods was to find a blackjack dealer with small hands or thin fingers who frequently didn't conceal the bottom card during the shuffle. They would then manage to get a glimpse at the bottom card and insert the cut card in a precise spot in the deck and make big bets when the card was about to be dealt. The team ended up barred from casinos, threatened at gunpoint, and beaten in Vegas's notorious back rooms.
