Playing card presses have been around for more than a century. Early playing cards were very expensive and were made of poor-quality paper that would easily warp after a few uses. To protect the cards and keep them flat these types of card presses were invented. Many different models were manufactured out of different materials and many of them were intricately designed. As the quality of cards improved the demand for these presses dwindled. Modern card presses are used by card players who live in very humid climates and magicians who prefer using playing cards that are completely flat.
This card press is of the standard variety and was manufactured for magicians. It is available in two versions a silver tone and a gold tone. Both feature enameled inlaid suite pips in red and black. The base is 5×3.25 inches and the height when empty is 2.25 inches. It can be used for all standard playing card sizes and most Tarot cards. Please specify if you want the gold tone (brass) or silver tone (chrome).
