Dusheck's Diminishing Cards
- Difficulty: EASY
- Category: CARD MAGIC
- Product Type: MAGIC TRICK
This is one of Steve Dusheck’s favorite creations and one of the routines he always performed. He partnered with Steve Shufton to create this improved version of his Diminishing Cards.
Here is what Steve Dusheck had to say about this version:
“Steve Shufton printed and die-cut a set of the cards and sent it to me. Not only were they perfect, but he corrected the problem I mentioned... I created a lot of good tricks over the years, and even a few great ones. My Diminishing Card trick made by Steve is one of the great tricks. The list of my five favorite tricks has changed over the years. Now my five favorite tricks are tricks I created. This version of the Diminishing Cards is on the list. I think it will be one of your favorites too.”
Here are some of the features of this unique set: Can be performed close-up or on stage, the cards grow back at the end, any back design possible, instant reset, faces match most popular brands, cards stay in same order as they shrink, and it is self-contained.
Comes complete with all the necessary gimmicked cards and written instructions. A Shufton Magic product.

Very clever! Five stars! Close up or stage. Packs small, plays big!
I have four versions of the Diminishing Cards: U. F. Grant's, Al Baker's, Trevor Duffy's, and Steve Dusheck's. They all work differently and they are all great. I'd recommend any of them.
While I can't honestly say one of those four is clearly "the best" I can think of five advantages of Dusheck's compared with the others.
First, it is half the cost of the Baker and Duffy versions (I don't know if the Grant version is still available).
Second, the cards are super durable. The Duffy and Baker versions are pretty durable too, but Dusheck's seems like the most durable. This trick will outlast you.
Third, as the ad says, you can make them go back to full size at the end if you wish. You can't do that with the others.
Fourth, if you are not careful, it is possible with two of the other versions to loose track of some of the small cards. This won't happen with Duschek's or Baker's.
Finally, the reset is instant, while the reset is longer in the others.
To keep this an honest review, the others have advantages over Dusheck's, such as an extra round of shrinkage. Also, those versions allow you to easily make the smallest set vanish at the end. And there are other advantages, depending on which version. However, if you don't already own a version of the Diminishing Cards, I'd certainly recommend this one. Watch the demo on Meir's site and after a little practice, you'll be able to perform it just like that!
