Roy Benson was a legendary magician and comedian who was way ahead of his time. Besides being a magician, he was also a movie actor and musician. He also had appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show and The Tonight Show.

Close-Up magicians know him as the creator of the classic Benson Bowl Routine, stage magicians likely know him as the inventor of the Long Salt Pour, but probably don’t realize that they are using his techniques, routines, and bits for the Chinese Sticks, Miser’s Dream, Linking Rings, Multiplying Billiard Balls, and much more.

This is a monumental book that looks at his life, his career, his magic, his comedy, and so much more. In addition to the new unearthed information and essays the book reprints the very rare “Benson On Magic” booklet and his previously unpublished book “The Second Oldest Profession.” There are more than fifty effects, routines and sleights explained in detail.

Benson was also a student of the legendary Nate Leipzig, and this book features an entire section with very rare photographs about his mentor.

We currently have two different editions in stock, these were in storage for the past 15 years and are being offered to you, while supplies last:

►Standard edition: Published by The Miracle Factory in 2006. Written by Levent, Todd Karr, and Roy Benson. It is an oversized (8”x10”) hardcover with dustjacket. 800-pages and more than 1,200 photographs and illustrations. Out of print. Very limited quantity.

►Collector’s Presentation Edition: This is part of a very limited edition of the Collector’s Edition with much fewer copies made. Numbered and signed as Presentation Copies. It includes everything that was in the original Collector’s Edition including the wooden case that houses it and a bonus CD. Out of print and was never offered for sale. Very limited quantity.

This book is a great investment (not only financial), but for anyone who wants to become a great parlor magician, comedy magician, and even an entertaining close-up magician. Highly recommended.

BONUS: We were able to find a bag of Rhinestones that Roy Benson used to make his Billiard Balls and other props sparkle. These were purchased by Larry Weeks from Roy’s widow Connie. Every purchase from us will receive four Rhinestones and a signed certificate of Provenance.
